Taligsik Band

They are not musicians, neither artists nor performers. Inday Tanini, Idol Dagol, Mario Penduko and Big Joe are nothing but ordinary DJs quintessentially equipped with outstanding knack in cracking fun out of anything at anytime, anywhere. Their jokes come out naturally and effortlessly that instantly sends many to outrageous laughters.

Gathering after board work has been a practice where jokes are favourite appetizer. In one of those times, while exchanging punch lines, their playful minds accidentally brought them to singing popular tunes while replacing them with their own hilarious lyrics. Unintentionally, Taligsik Band was formed, a phenomenon that hit Davao by stormBudot-budot.

Tanini Wonder products (a product of imagination that brings users great disaster) have become an inspiration of the group from where they derived their original composition, the Tanini Jingle. This was followed by Pamati, Iro kong Itom and their spoofs Pusoy si Lolo (Low), Gabriella (Umbrella) and Butikmol Girl (Beautiful Girl).

Right now, requests for Taligsik Band songs are causing traffic in the hot lines and floods in text line of MOR 101.1 Davao. Because of its huge impact to the masses, invitations for city and provincial shows as well as products endorsements are now also eventually coming.

The Dotnet Nuke blog is a collection of related modules which comprise of all the working parts of a blog. When the blog module is added to a page,all module are added

Blog Module

Weblog (aka "blog") is arguably one of the most popular categories of applications on the Internet today.  Naturally, this makes a Blog module a very important part of the DotNetNuke family of free BSD modules.  The DotNetNuke® Blog is actually a collection of related modules which comprise all the working parts of a Blog.  When you add the blog module to a page,  you actually add all of them (which you can choose to delete or move).  These presently include:
  • Menu: List of blog related actions that a user can take, based on permissions (e.g. changing settings, adding a post, etc).
  • Search: Utility for searching Blog content.
  • Roll: List of blogs on the site (or in some logical grouping)
  • Archive: Calendar indicating dates when blogs have been posted
  • Posts: Display of the lists and content of the blogs.
This blog module was contributed to DotNetNuke (and thus to you) by Hans-Peter Schelian, who based his work on a blog module originally developed by Matt Fraser for version 1.x.

You are in the process of setting up module and you do not want anyone to see it until you have completed it.

There are really four (4) different ways to think about giving access to Modules on your website.  Who would you like to be able to see each module?
(1) Administrators:  Only users who have the authority to "administer" your website can see these modules (so that means you)!  This is a good setting to use for modules that you are in the process of setting up but don't want anyone to see until you are finished.  You can use the Page Editors Only option of the Visibility selector when you add new modules to keep them private until you are ready.

When a Module is only visible to website Administrators a red border is applied to alert you of this.  That way you won't forget that nobody can see them except you!

(2) Unauthenticated Users:  All visitors can view your Module anonymously.  "Unauthenticated" means that the user has not logged in and may not even be registered as a user of your website.  Think of this as "public" access... things that you want everyone to be able to see.
(3) Registered Users:  Users that have filled out a Registration form on your website and now have a User Name and Password and have already logged in.
(4) Custom Group of Users:  These are Registered Users that you have also placed into a special group or "Role" that you have created (e.g. "Family" or "Customers").  For more information on custom groups you'll want to read the tutorial: Manage Users.

What is the first step in good programming?

Posted by Gregfox on 11/18/09 , under | comments (0)

The first step in good programming is to understand fully what the

program is supposed to do and the relationship between the inputs and the outputs.

The second step is to break down the process into its smallest component. This is

called modularity. A flowchart is very useful here. It is because of modularity

that you can use "libraries" of functions so that you don't have to reinvent the

wheel every time you program something.

The third step, implementation, is where you put together all the modules

according to the flowchart you designed.

What is the mark of good programming?

Actually, the first and most important rule of writing good code is to comment your code....In a past few days or months, you may need to go back and rewrite something. You need to be able to look at the code and know what it is doing. The most effective way of doing this is to comment your code as you write it.

Equally important, don't just start writing code. Sit down and write out a statement as to what you want your code to do before you ever start. That will help you stay focused on what it is you are trying to achieve.

Dnn Flash with image appearing using XML as the custom editor

Installation

This section details a step-by-step process of how to install the JW Image Rotator onto your page. The download ZIP contains all you need to get started.

Step 1: Transfer the imagerotator.swf and imagerotator.xml file from the ZIP to your website. (Make sure that you’ve also uploaded all photos you want to show onto your site.)

Step 2: Edit the imagerotator.xml file so that it contains the titles, links and image URLs of your images. This can be done by using a simple text editor. If you want to add more photos, just paste additional track blocks in the .xml file.

Step 3: Embed the Image Rotator in your HTML page with the following lines of code. (Note: If you place the files in different directories, be sure to set the references in this embed code accordingly.)

 src="imagerotator.swf"

width="470"
height="160"
allowscriptaccess="always"
allowfullscreen="true"
flashvars="file=imagerotator.xml&transition=blocks"
/>

Notice the flashvars parameter can contain a list of variables for configuring the rotator. To quickly set up flashvars, read through the following Wiki page with all flashvars. Select the variables you want to use and insert their names/values onto your page. It’s that simple.

Why My Parents Took My Money

Posted by Gregfox on , under | comments (0)

One thing I hated growing up was that my parents took all the money I made doing after school activities and only gave it to me when they thought I needed it for something.

Looking back, I know they did the right thing because I would have spent it on baseball cards, candy or toys.

By taking the money from me, they held me in check. The best part about them holding my money was when it was time to go school shopping. I was always excited to spend my own money.

I know if they didn't hold on to the money, then I wouldn't have enough to buy some of the extra things I liked.

For example, my parents didn't believe in paying for a Spider-Man folder when a regular blank folder did just fine but if I had my own money they couldn't say no.

But as a kid, I hated having to give my money to my parents. The first time they took it, I thought they were never going to give it back. Of course they did but I was paranoid as hell with my hard earned money.

This is something I could see me doing with my future kids because it's effective.

It's a great way to teach kids how to save money for things they really want.

Did you parents ever hold onto your money when you were a child? What about giving you a coin jar or piggy bank?

The source for ASP.NET MVC has long been available up at http://www.codeplex.com/aspnet. The source has been "Available" so I usually call this "Source Opened" as opposed to "Open Source."

15 Essential Checks Before Launching Your Website

Your website is designed, the CMS works, content has been added and the client is happy. It’s time to take the website live. Or is it? When launching a website, you can often forget a number of things in your eagerness to make it live, so it’s useful to have a checklist to look through as you make your final touches and before you announce your website to the world.

10 skills developers will need in the next five years

With the recent changes in the economy, a lot of developers are focused on their short-term job prospects. At the same time, it’s important to make sure that you get the most bang for your buck when it comes to taking the time and energy to learn new skills. Here is our list of 10 skills you should be learning right now to make sure that your resume is relevant for the next five years. The list is hardly exhaustive, and there are huge swaths of the industry it won’t cover (mainframe developers, for example). Nonetheless, for average mainstream development, you can’t go wrong learning at least seven of these skills — not only to the point where you can talk convincingly about them at a job interview, but actually use them on the job.

A 10-year-old girl was decapitated by a crocodile in a Philippine lake after the creature knocked over her canoe, police said Wednesday.

The girl and a classmate were on their way Saturday to their floating school on Agusan del Sur province's Mihaba Lake when the 23-foot- (7-meter-) long crocodile bumped the boat, causing it to capsize, said Bunawan town police officer Melchor Danuco.

Rescuers found the girl's headless body floating on the lake on Tuesday, he said.

The classmate was rescued by a man escorting the pair in another boat, said Roel Hipulan, head of the private group that runs the school in remote Bunawan town.

"It's a monster crocodile," Hipulan said, adding that he had seen the creature. He said salt water crocodiles, some bigger than a bus, are known to inhabit the lake, though attacks are rare.

But the lake's waters have been swollen for the past several months, causing fish to scatter to others parts. With little to feed on, the crocodiles have become aggressive, he said.

The crocodile attack has prompted the temporary closure of the school and the evacuation of about 100 residents of houses on stilts on the lake, Hipulan added.
